Rome, home to the ancient Roman Empire as well as the Catholic Church, is known for its art, history, culture and shopping. Airport Transportation:

The Ciampino airport is serviced by bus, train and taxi service. Buses depart from outside the airport terminal for the trip to the city center. Buses also service the local train station from where you can get a train to the city center. Taxis can be hailed outside the terminal for the 30-minute trip to town, and cost about €35.

Most of the sights are located between the Centro Storico (historical center) and the area of Roma Antica (ancient Rome). As you wander around the city, discover: Piazza Navona, a 17th century plaza with the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Four Rivers Fountain) at its center; Campo dei Fiori (Field of Flowers) flower and vegetable market; Piazza del Campidoglio, designed by Michelangelo and lined with palaces; and Villa Borghese, a beautiful park with a villa housing an art museum.
